First “Real” radio

Post by kwidner »

I’ve been listening with a little UV-5 for a while. But I’ve been unwilling to hit the ptt on it. so after much research, I ordered a Motorola XPR7550e. Yes, I’ve read a lot of horror stories about the CPS software. And I am in the early process of attempting to get a MOL account with permission to buy the software. So I’m absolutely prepared to wait weeks until I can buy it. I may have a local shop program the local repeaters in the meantime. Working nights adds extra levels of difficulty contacting Motorola.

I’ve got it programmed, and I’m using it. The software wasn’t that crazy. The handset is fantastic.
